The Ledlenser MH8 is not the lightest headlamp I own but holy cow, for the affordable price it is filled with features I look for in a head lamps costing much more.
With simply a small rubber covered button I can easily cycle through all light modes. The MH8 has a focusing bezel spread a flood beam or tightly focus a spot light. The MH8's 600lm Boost Mode throws bright beam up to 200m, it also has a 400lm High Power, 170lm Mid Power, 20lm Low Power mode, plus a strobe setting. In addition to white light there are green, blue, and red modes. Other light settings are a regulated output or an energy savings mode.
The MH8 Ledlenser uses a rechargeable battery pack that's included or two AA batteries. If using the supplied rechargeable battery pack you don't have removed them to be recharged. The MH8 has been provided a USB cable that snaps to the magnetic terminals on the headlamp or recharge it with the Ledlenser Powercase (sold separately).
Rated IP54, it's more water resistant than it is submersible so don't go swimming with it. The MH8 feels fairly balanced while wearing due to the robust fully adjustable head strap provided. Although the strap feels secure, it still isn't the lightest or as compact as I would like.
For what it is and with features I like. It's perfect for my needs on top of general uses- Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Backpacking and Hiking. Heck, it's in my pack every time I leave for the woods.
