I am typically an angled spotter kind of guy but I saw this compact spotter and for the size, I figured the straight version would be perfect.
It's sub 2 pounds and fits easily in side pockets on my pack.
I was a bit worried on how much better or I guess of how much it would lack in production compared to other spotters. Ultimately, I thought I might just be extra weight I wouldn't need if it didn't punch enough above my binos.
Well, I was quite shocked at how good it is. It's way better that the old model 50mm they had. Very crisp, clear, even the edge to edge clarity was impressive. I also tried it with my PhoneSkope and that worked out better than expected.
I will say, I tried to install the magview S adapter onto it for digiscoping and they eyepiece on this thing is too small to fit the magview onto it. I had to get creative and change the sizing of one of the shims to get it on there tight enough. However, phone Skope worked great so that's something you should know!
In conclusion, this is going to be my backpack spotter moving forward. Packing it on my archery elk and antelope hunts in the coming month instead of my 65mm and saving 30oz! Woooo!
